Christopher Losee is a drummer and percussionist based in the Hudson Valley Region in New York State. As a member of the Percussive Arts Society, he is involved in many areas of percussion in the region.
Getting his start in the 5th grade school band program, Chris now holds a B.A. in Music with a concentration in percussion from Concordia College - New York, where he also received the Stein Prize for Musical Excellence. Some of the fine musicians and teachers that he has studied under include "Swiss" Chris Flueck, Dominic Donato, Greg Beyer, Andy Pasterino, Gene Randolph, Evan Hause, and David Shohl.
Since studying music, Chris has been playing and teaching professionally for over eleven years. He has performed and recorded with with the Hudson Valley College Symphony, Westchester Symphonic Winds, Westchester Pops Band, Bernstein Bard Trio, 90 Miles off Broadway, Faithful Folk, In His Name, A Gentle Whisper, Fine Baked Buns, Concordia Jazz Ensemble, Concordia College Choir, and many others. He has been involved with numerous festivals and events such as the New York City Columbus Day and St. Patrick's Day Parades, University of Massechussetts Band Day, Rock Camp USA, Concordia College Band Bash, New Paltz Piano Fest, and the Clintondale Coffeehouse, among others. Recently, Chris has been performing often in pit orchestras for Up in One Productions and Centerstage Productions at the Performing Arts Center in Rhinebeck, NY. Also a member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, he has been involved musically with Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Bronx, NY, and more recently, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Walden, NY.
As for teaching, Chris enjoys teaching drums and percussion in various institutions and places. He currently teaches at the New York school of Music (Walden, NY), Dutchess Community College Music School (Poughkeepsie, NY), Mountain Laurel Waldorf School (New Paltz, NY) and his private home studio (Clintondale, NY). Chris looks forward to making music with you!
